The following information might help you better understand how Jeyla Studio integrates with Twilio.
Third party applications
Jeyla Studio is a third party application that utilizes the Twilio platform to send SMS reminders. Jeyla Studio takes care of the 'coding' so that you don't need to worry about it. The Jeyla Studio application achieves this by calling Twilio APIs in the background. This is often referred to as integrating with the Twilio platform. Your Twilio account
You need a Twilio account to send SMS messages with Jeyla Studio. You are responsible for creating and managing your own Twilio account. You will need to configure your Twilio account before you can use it with Jeyla Studio. Your Twilio account will start off as a trial account. You can send test messages using a trial account. However, when you want to send real reminder messages, you will need to upgrade your Twilio account. Jeyla Studio cannot create or manage your Twilio account for you. If you have problems creating or setting up your Twilio account, please contact Twilio support in the first instance.
Purchasing a Twilio number
Once you have upgraded your Twilio account, you can then purchase a Twilio telephone number. A Twilio telephone number is required to send SMS messages. Twilio will charge you a set monthly fee for the number you purchase. Be sure to choose a number for the region/country you operate in and also one that supports SMS/text-messaging. Find out more about provisioning a Twilio phone number.
Regulations
Different countries have different regulations around the use of phone numbers. You may have to provide proof of identity or perform extra regulatory steps as part of provisioning a number or setting up your Twilio account. This may be in the form of identifying your company or identifying yourself as an individual (if you do not have a company set up, configure your account for 'individual' use). Keep at it!
Setting up your Twilio account may appear daunting at first. There is a lot of information to take in. Keep at it and reach out to Twilio support if you have issues (you will after all, be one of their customers).
